For over 20 years, Dawn Dzurilla has been nationally recognized as having originated and completed scores of global senior-level executive searches representing a wide-array of client organizations and in several industries. Dawn’s clients have included companies in technology, cleantech, sustainability, financial institutions, investment management, trade associations and non-profits.

Dawn founded Gaia Human Capital Consultants in 2006. She serves as a client trusted Partner-level, retained Executive Search Consultant. Dawn is exceptionally well-connected and highly recognized as a U.S. pioneer at the intersection of executive search and cleantech.

Dawn Dzurilla has also served as National Chair of Human Capital and Director of Human Resources for The Cleantech Open, a non-profit organization that runs the world’s largest accelerator for cleantech startups. 900+ U.S. alumni have raised capital totaling over $1.3 Billion. www.cleantechopen.org.

In her role at The Cleantech Open, Dawn was responsible for leading all internal HR functions, partnering with Board of Directors and Executive Director to strengthen all HR activities including recruitment, retention, training, compensation & benefits for full-time, part-time, temporary, volunteer management and staff and driving a unified executive search & selection process for an upgraded CTO Board of Directors.




She served participating and alumni firms as the CTO’s Human Capital, Executive Recruitment Talent Acquisition subject matter expert and hands-on mentor; providing mentorship to scores of technology start-ups concerning organizational and leadership planning, succession planning, executive search and innovative talent acquisition strategies;


Earlier, Dawn managed a successful retained search practice with extraordinarily successful client relationships consisting of financial institutions including investment banks (i.e. Morgan Stanley, Jefferies), commercial banks (i.e. Citigroup, JP Morgan), investment management / hedge funds (i.e. Blackrock), mutual funds (i.e ProFunds, State Street), insurance companies (i.e. Aetna, Willis, John Hancock), non-profits (i.e. FINRA, Bond Market Association) and Fintech firms (i.e. The Retirement Plan Co.) She originated and led scores of global senior-level and difficult-to-recruit searches, several in IT and often charting new territory and building teams.


Dawn served as Vice President of Haskell & Stern Associates, then a top 10 largest retained search firm and as Principal at Warren International, then a prominent search firm specialized in the investment management industry. Clients included Charles Schwab, Alliance/Bernstein, PaineWebber and Northern Trust.


Dawn cofounded H3 Capital Partners, a pioneer Mission-Driven, Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) firm. She also served as Head of Corporate Development for a pioneer, innovative medical waste technology company.


In San Diego, from 2013 - 2014, Dawn served as Director of Corporate Recruitment & Talent Acquisition of Eastridge Workforce Solutions. She was the firm’s most senior corporate recruitment leader, reported directly to the firm’s CEO and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual external recruitment fees. Dawn built and owned the firm’s first-ever scaleable, Talent Acquisition program to support the firm’s growth and hiring demand. As an internal recruitment resource, Dawn executed proactive recruitment campaigns in alignment with firm’s vision, brand, growth objectives and core values and drove the strategy and process that successfully competed for and attracted a pipeline of top-talent in extremely competitive and heated SoCal market.


Dawn graduated from St. John’s University earning a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and with distinction, served as an elected Student Government executive board leader. Her career began on Wall Street at Smith Barney.


Dawn is an author, occasional keynote and frequent public speaker, and champion of diversity employment and leadership. She’s often speaks to disadvantaged youths encouraging the pursuit of STE(A)M careers. A native New Yorker, Dawn resides full-time in the Pacific Heights district of San Francisco.


With Penny her adorable Havanese puppy, Dawn enjoys many diverse charitable, cultural and sporting activities including the performing arts, sailing, snow skiing, biking, charitable 5K races, the abundance of Northern California’s nature and the exciting diverse and cosmopolitan culture found in San Francisco.
