Since founding Gaia Human Capital Consultants in 2006, Dawn Dzurilla has become a recognized executive search leader within the cleantech and renewable energy industry.  She leverages twenty-plus years of senior-level executive search, team-building and organizational experience to serve clients in attracting and securing world-class, senior-executive talent.

She is a frequent public speaker and the author providing strategic human capital and leadership solutions within the Global Cleantech and Green Economy.  She is a Contributing Columnist for www.RenewableEnergyWorld.com, the most widely read publication in the renewable energy industry. She is an outspoken proponent, advocating "green collar" executive and professional careers.  Dawn has hosted conferences and written and spoken publicly about the challenges and solutions that cleantech firms face today when attempting to attract and secure world-class executive leadership.

Dawn's Cleantech career began as Managing Director of Corporate Development for Cleantech firm, a pioneer manufacturer of environmental and medical waste management technology solutions.

An accomplished EcoPreneur, immediately prior to founding Gaia HCC, Dawn Co-founded and was President of H3 Capital, LLC, a Sustainable Responsible Investment Management (SRI) firm.  The firm carefully screened, selected and managed investments integrating sustainable and environmental concerns and investment decisions.
 

Prior, for 15 years, Dawn built a retainer executive search firm, completing scores of C-level and professional search assignments serving clients in the financial services industry and for one client, started-up and managed their successful MBA Associate and Analyst recruitment program. Dawn is involved in various professional organizations including, member of the Leadership Council of the American Council On Renewable Energy.  She earned her BS degree from St. John's University in New York City.  Dawn is a resident of Naples, FL and New York City.

Zoe L. Van Schyndel, CFA®, brings a wealth of diverse experience in sustainability, investments, clean technology and environmentalism to every client partnership.  Zoe is the Practice Leader of Gaia Human Capital Consultants' Green Employee Benefits consulting business.  Additionally, Zoe is a faculty member at Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. 

An acclaimed author and lecturer, Zoe is a Contributing Columnist for the investment web site, The Motley Fool, on investment issues and historically has written about green tech and socially responsible investments.

Zoe co founded with Gaia Human Capital Consultants' Founder & President, Dawn Dzurilla an innovative Sustainable Responsible Investment Management (SRI) firm, which carefully screened, selected and managed investments based on issues of sustainability, corporate and social responsibility. She served as Chief Investment Officer & Compliance Officer.  Among the firm's offerings, which integrated sustainable, personal, societal values & environmental concerns with individual investment decisions, was an actively managed renewable energy fund.


Zoe was instrumental in initiating the iShares KLD Select Social Index Fund (KLD), one of the first socially responsible exchange-traded funds. She also led the development of the KLD/Russell Mellon family of socially responsible indexes.  Previously, she was a New England regional manager at the Securities and Exchange Commission, responsible for regulatory oversight of investment advisors and mutual funds.  

Zoe, earned her Masters of Business Administration from Northeastern University and is a resident of Olympia, WA.

For over 25 years, Dean Anderson has focused on alternative/renewable energy and climate change mitigation.  As Managing Director of Gaia Human Capital Consultants, Dean partners with clients of early stage and high growth companies in the fields of Alternative Energy, Clean Technology, and Climate Change Mitigation to attract and recruit world-class senior-level executives and senior professionals.

Dean was Co-Founder, initial investor, and Director of Market Development at SunLink Corporation, the leading manufacturer in the US and Canada of commercial-scale solar electricity (“PV”) mounting systems.   

At the Royal Institute of International Affairs (“Chatham House”) in London, Dean founded and directed Chatham House Climate Change Services, the first consultancy in Europe devoted to climate change mitigation.  Clients ranged from “green” companies interested in potential opportunities they hoped would result from the ongoing UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - to “brown” companies looking for guidance on how to position themselves with respect to possible emission reduction mandates -  to governments seeking policy advice and status reports on the international negotiations that culminated in the Kyoto Protocol.  Also at Chatham House, he co-authored books and articles on the subjects of climate change mitigation and renewable energy policy. 

In Berlin, Germany, Dean organized public/private partnerships between US companies and cities of the former East Germany to develop natural gas-fired combined heat & power plants.   He also taught courses in East Germany’s first private MBA program.

Earlier in his career, Dean was project manager for hydroelectric, geothermal, and wind energy projects in Idaho, California, and Hawaii.   He served as Geothermal Program Manager for the State of Hawaii in addition to his energy & environment-related work, Dean has been involved in the ski industry as President of Poma of America, Inc, a leading manufacturer of high-speed ski lifts, and as Vice President for Development for Utah’s Snowbird Ski Resort, where he started as Ski Patrol Director.   

Dean earned his Master in Business Administration degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.  In addition, he did post-graduate studies in International Relations at the London School of Economics, focusing on international climate change politics.  Dean resides in the San Francisco Bay area of Northern California.

Ken Sutton is Founding Partner at Sutton Willis and More.
